Lactivists

I read the Globe and Mail recently and discovered a new term: Lactivists

This refers to people who make mothers who cannot breast feed feel bad. Really bad. They make no apologies for making moms who “fail” feel guilty.

They go one step further. They attack formula companies.

So what they say then is that all mothers—100% —must breast feed. They also are saying that if a small percentage cannot breast feed, for whatever reason, they must feel bad.

What they do not say is if formulas are bad and breastfeeding is impossible, what then should a baby get for nutrition

I rarely get feedback about these blogs. Hope you are as irked as I am by lactivists. They are 100% right in promoting breast feeding. They are 100% wrong in making moms who cannot breast feed feel bad.
